Founding Electrical Engineer
We run a PCB design firm that ships real hardware, and we're building the AI workflows that automate a big chunk of the work along the way. You'll take full ownership of client projects, but you won't be doing it alone: you'll work super closely with our software and ML team, and if you ever catch yourself thinking "I hate doing this part," we'll turn it into a tool or automation.
You'll get broad, hands-on EE reps across a wide mix of products: VR headsets, robotics, wearables, RF/NFC, power, and more. You'll help define what "10x faster hardware design" actually looks like in practice.
What we're looking for:
- 1-5 years building boards — You've shipped hardware to production and know what it takes
- Experience with PCB design tools — Kicad, Altium, Cadence, LTSpice etc
- Breadth over depth — You've touched high-speed digital, power electronics, antennas, BGA fanout, and aren't afraid of what you haven't done yet
- Process skeptic — You question how things are done and actively look for ways to make design faster, cheaper, and more reliable
- Love of making! — You hack on passion projects in your spare time
Nice to have:
- Experience using generative AI technologies like LLMs or AI agents
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Devin in software development
What you'll do:
- Own 2-4 client projects at a time, from requirements to manufacturing
- Design across a wide range of applications: motor controllers, compute carriers, RF/antenna systems, battery management, high-speed interfaces
- Work directly with customers to understand constraints and deliver solutions
- Help us build internal tools and automation to 10x our output
- Collaborate with layout specialists, firmware engineers, and manufacturing partners
Application Process
Quick interview to get to know you, and we'll give you a paid work-trial where you work with the team and deliver real value. If it goes well we will fly you over to our office in Vancouver (moving to SF soon) to work with the team in person.
